Argyle's Summer Shipping Options
Extreme temperatures can ruin wine
Wine is a perishable item, and extreme heat or cold can adversely affect it during transit – either via its route or at your destination. Typically, boxes of wine sent by Ground service will travel on trucks not outfitted with temperature controls in the cargo areas, and the extended hot/cold effects can damage your wine. This is unacceptable to us (you'll probably agree), so we take measures to prevent temperature-related damage.
Summer Shipping Policy
As of June 1, we are now holding all ground shipments outside the Northwest to protect the wine from extreme temperatures. If you would like to select Overnight or 2-Day Air we will ship out your wine right away. Or, for certain states, check out our new Temperature Controlled shipping option below. Otherwise we will hold the wine in our temperature-controlled facility and ship it in the fall when the weather is safe. If you still wish to select ground delivery, please make a note in your order, but be aware that no insurance coverage is available for damage resulting from temperatures in ground transit.
NEW! Temperature Controlled Shipping
We are excited to announce our new temperature controlled shipping option. For just an extra $10 flat fee above regular ground shipping rates, your wine will travel in refrigerated trucks to a hub in your region and then via regular UPS vehicles to your home or office. Delivery takes approximately 2-3 weeks, and is available to most addresses in the following states:
- District of Columbia
- Kansas (Witchita area only)
- Missouri (St. Louis area only)
- New Jersey
- New York
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
- West Virginia
To upgrade to the temperature controlled option, or If you have any questions or would like to discuss shipping options, please call us weekdays 9 to 5, at 503-538-8520, ext 233, or email us.
