The farmhouse, which served as our former tasting room has been haunted for more than 100 years. More muse than Spirit, the intriguing and intangible qualities of Spirithouse wines are enhanced by the continued presence of the pioneer woman who once lived here. The fruit is derived from a select block of high elevation densly planted vines at Knudsen Vineyards (Dundee Hills AVA) and produces our most powerful yet elegant 100% Pinot Noir wine.

This is a refined, sneaker of a wine! The aroma is bright with an appealing purity. Look for luscious red fruit, like raspberry and cherry made deeper by fresh earth, new leather, and a hint of black pepper spices. The flavor is pure and, dare I say it, “elitist”. The red fruits are fresh and ripe, fresh earth integrates with spicy, almost floral, flavors. The juicy center is signature Spirithouse. The wine is youthful now, but will “sneak up” on you with the power and richness I have come to expect from this wine.
2008 was not only a glorious year for still wines, it turns out that it was a pretty darn special year for sparkling as well. This year’s Blanc de Blancs is a brilliant pale straw color with a beautifully fine mousse and delicate aromas of white flowers, sugar cookies, quince, and rock melon. In the mouth, it comes alive with concentrated ripe flavours of sweet pear, choux pastry and melon all balanced on a pure backbone of mineral acidity. This wine defines the fuller side of Blanc de Blancs in its exactitude and rich purity.
Made from fuller-bodied Pinot Noir and fine-structured Chardonnay from Knudsen Vineyard, this is simply an astounding (big!) bottle of our best bubbly.

Here is a wine that speaks to the duality of richness with elegance. On the nose, you have baked pear tart with hints of vanilla icing sugar, kumquats, and white flowers. What happens on the palette is expansive and mouth-filling with flavors that express Pinot Noir side of sparkling - Bosc pear, slightly under-ripe red plum, and Macintosh apple. These fruit flavors are melded with notes of baklava, challah bread, and ginger root and finish on a clean, balanced acid-tinged mineral note. An exceptional example of a single-vineyard grower sparkling wine.
This is our Classic “big furniture” Pinot Noir style derived from Lone Star Vineyard. Its melanite color is the first indicator of its boldness. The aroma is black cherry reduction fruit, black licorice, Earl Grey spices, and that luscious, fresh earth quality that says “Nuthouse”. The flavors are big, juicy black cherry and black plum pudding spices. The texture forms a rich, creamy center to this richly ripe Pinot Noir. The ripe plum and cherry fruit carry on and on. It is a wonderful thing to experience such powerful, exotic Pinot Noir yet wonder at its bright, balanced, mineral pinpoint touch twirling on the palate.
"How dark is the ocean, how deep is the sea?” The answer just might be in a glass of this Reserve Pinot Noir! This Pinot Noir has a seductive rich, super dark ruby-violet color. The aromas reflect one’s expectations of a cool year, dark colored Pinot. Aromas leap out the glass with black cherry, black cherry leather, and cedar, cedar smoke with a ripping portion of cinnamon spice, finishing off with a delicate hint of violet flower patch. Use of new oak was delicate, so the aromas are real time Pinot Noir! The flavor is a big juicy mouthful with firm tannin structure framed by velvet texture. The fruit is all about black cherry all the way to a very long finish. Spice of “far away lands” rounds out the complexity of this exciting, cool season vintage Pinot Noir.
