With one of the driest and warmest years on record, 2012 has been described by some as one of the most "epic" harvests ever in the Willamette Valley.
"The 2012 Pinot Noirs are some of the most compelling wines to come out of Oregon..." - Augustus Weed, Wine Spectator
"A dry summer produced Pinot Noirs of deep color and rich fruit character." - Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator
Indeed, here at Argyle we were allowed to pick fruit under lovely fall sunshine at a leisurely pace with perfectly ‘dialed-in’ maturity, excellent ripeness & fresh natural acidity.
Every now and then a vintage produces fruit of such character that certain blocks that showcase the distinct terroirs of our vineyards, and 2012 gave us much to work with. We released our first ever Spirit Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir (now sold out), the first Spirithouse Pinot Noir since 2009, and our new release - Dundee Hills Pinot Noir from Knudsen and Holstein Vineyards.
Our 2012 Reserve and Nuthouse Pinot Noirs were recently awarded scores of 92 from Wine Spectator, and each are drinking beautifully now yet with many years to develop. Now's the time to stock your cellar with this stellar vintage - you'll thank us 5, 10 and even 15 years from now!
